WARWICK NAVOSA TO DEFY ALL ODDS
The Peniasi Damu-coached Warwick Navosa side aim to defy all odds to upset Nanukuloa in the Vodafone Rugby Trophy final this Saturday. Skipper/hooker Mikaele Sarosaro has been ruled out due to injury sustained in the 13-11 win over Rewa in the semi-final at Prince Charles Park in Nadi last Saturday.
The side is training under the watchful eyes of former Nadroga reps Damu, Sirilo Lala and Kini Malai.
Technical advisor Kini Vuira said they are confident of a positive outcome. “We are in the final now and we need to step again and against Nanukuloa,” he said.
“Disciplined is another area we need to work on as three players were sin-binned last week and that proved could be costly in the end. The side will be banking fullback Waqa Robanakadavu, flanker Jioji Nareki and Ilikimi Ma. “We have very young boys from the clubs in the Baravi, Coral Coast, Naboutini/Nabukelevu and Nawamagi in Navosa,” Vuira said. “The NRU would like to thank our major sponsor Warwick Fiji Resort and Spa.”
The match is likely to be held at the Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
