$320K 5-year Damodar Naming Deal
The Damodar Group yesterday renewed the naming rights of the Damodar City Aquatic Centre in Laucala Bay, Suva.
The five-year partnership has increased from $250,000 to $320,000.
Fiji Sports Council chief executive Litiana Loabuka acknowledged the continuous support. “We’ve nothing to sell but space and for the Damodar Group to support us in this way it’s good for us and the sporting community,” she said. Loabuka said the continued investment augurs well with the upcoming events.
She said the recent installation of FINA internationally-approved and standardised equipment will be used for all major championships. Damodar Group chief executive Div Damodar said they believed in the importance of being a part of the community in which they operate. “We are committed to being involved in the sporting fraternity where we have an interactive connection to our customers,” he said. “We have increased our sponsorship realising the continued growth in investment with sporting facilities.” Council chairman Peter Mazey was grateful with the continued partnership. “The board has put in place a Master Plan for the whole development of the area around the former Laucala Bay Secondary School and the Vodafone Arena,” he said. “And part of the Master Plan would be the connection between Damodar City and the Damodar City Aquatic Centre and the whole of the Sports Council Complex.”
