Typhoon Namtheun bat­ters Ja­pan

Tokyo: Typhoon Namtheun brought rain and 100-mph winds to south­ern Ja­pan, just days af­ter an­other typhoon made land­fall. Namtheun is ex­pected to track along the coast of Kyushu, Ja­pan’s south­west­ern-most is­land, even­tu­ally mak­ing land­fall near Na­gasaki. Though the storm is ex­pected to weaken, sus­tained winds of 100 mph are likely, with gusts reach­ing 125 MPH, mak­ing Namtheun as a Cat­e­gory 2 storm UPI
