Samoan Diplomat Presents Credentials
President, Major General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote, yesterday received the credentials from the new High Commissioner of the Independent State of Samoa to Fiji, Kilifoti Etueuati. Mr Etueuati presented his credentials at the State House to Mr Konrote after inspecting a 25-member guard of honour by officers of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces. Mr Etueuati has held various senior positions in Samoa’s government and has also served as Samoa’s envoy to various countries including Japan, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Russia and Philippines. He is a graduate from the University of Auckland and has a PHD in Pacific Political History of Law from the Australian National University. The High Commissioner is currently Ambassador –atlarge for the Pacific and will be based in Apia, Samoa.
