Indonesia mount case against notorious smuggler
Jakarta: Indonesian authorities say they have briefed members of the Australian Federal Police as they move to mount a case against one of South-East Asia’s most notorious people smugglers. Abraham Louhenapessy, or Captain Bram as he is otherwise known, was arrested in West Jakarta last Friday after a search spanning 10 months. It is alleged Captain Bram has been involved in smuggling more than 1000 people to Australia since 1999. He is being detained on Rote Island east of Bali.
