Baby Boy’s Body 98 Days In Mortuary

The body of a new-born baby boy has been in the Wainibokasi Hos­pi­tal mortuary for 98 days be­cause her mother is yet to be found. The dead baby was found on July 4, in a K.R. Latchan bus in Wainibokasi, Nau­sori. Po­lice spokesper­son, Ana Naisoro said: “We still have no leads to the mother of the baby.

“We are still in­ves­ti­gat­ing and search­ing for the mother as the baby’s body is still in Wainibokasi morgue,” she said. The in­fant’s body was found by the K.R. Latchan Buses Lim­ited em­ploy­ees, Uday Prasad, 58, and Suresh Ku­mar, 49, while clean­ing the bus for me­chan­i­cal re­pairs.

Once the Po­lice have fin­ished their in­ves­ti­ga­tion, the State will de­cide on the burial of the baby’s body.
