This is the his­tory of Fiji. All Fiji ci­ti­zens should know and it should be taken as a com­pul­sory topic in schools. His­tory of in­de­pen­dence , all the past pres­i­dents ,chiefs from dif­fer­ent prov­inces , the sugar in­dus­try, the gir­mits nd other im­por­tant his­tory of Fiji should be in­cluded in the school cur­ricu­lum. Here in Amer­ica all these are com­pul­sory top­ics to be taught in schools. Even when one wants to be a cit­i­zen of Amer­ica one has to learn these his­tory .One will be asked 10 ques­tions con­cern­ing Amer­ica’s his­tory. If you pass you get your cit­i­zen­ship.This shows that ev­ery­one should know the his­tory of a place. 10th of Oc­to­ber is Fiji Day. Schools should try to reen­act the Deed of Ces­sion whereby the Chiefs of Fiji ceeded Fiji to Queen Vic­to­ria. Just a food for thought
