Abdul Khan resigns as Fiji Sugar Corporation CEO
Fiji Sugar Corporation Limited (FSC) chief executive Abdul Khan has resigned from his position. This was confirmed by Mr Khan when contacted yesterday afternoon but he declined to comment further. However, the FSC chairman of directors Vishnu Mohan said Mr Khan resigned on the grounds of ill health. “Mr Khan will be leaving his post with immediate effect and the FSC wishes him well as he attends to his personal circumstances,” Mr Mohan said. “He has presided over the affairs of the FSC, first as executive chairman and then CEO, during a very challenging time for the industry and has done so with dedication and in the interests of all stakeholders. “He leaves the FSC in a far better state than when he took over five years ago.” Mr Mohan said the post of CEO will be advertised as soon as practicable. He said in the meantime Mika Biukoto will assume the position of acting chief executive.
