Four men allegedly involved in a series of robberies and burglaries were limping when they appeared in the Navua Magistrates Court yesterday. One of the accused had an eye patch. The matter was called before Magistrate Seinileba Levaci, who denied bail for all four accused. He also transferred the matter to the High Court in Suva. Irimia Ratunarukutabua, 46, Jonacani Nacani, 39, Lemeki Kotoilevuka, 28, and Kilioni Vatutaqiri, 29, are charged with a count each of aggravated robbery, theft and resisting arrest.

It is alleged that the four accused, on October 17, entered a villa at Pacific Harbour and stole belongings which had a total value of $3225.

Police Prosecutor Constable Riteshni Lata told the court that the four accused had other matters in Suva for alleged burglaries. Ratunarukutabua, who sported an eye patch, told the court he needed to get his eye checked by a specialist and not an ordinary doctor. The case has been adjourned to October 28 for first call in the High Court.
