Akeneta Vatuvili won gold in the 1,500 me­tres dur­ing the Nas­inu Zone ath­let­ics meet at the ANZ Sta­dium yes­ter­day. The Bishop Kempthorn Me­mo­rial School stu­dent, who also com­peted in the 100m and 200 events, will take part Chow Games on Novem­ber 18. The Solomon Is­lan­der who has ma­ter­nal links to Tailevu is proud of her achieve­ment. “I have five other sib­lings, my brother was the first per­son to com­pete in ath­let­ics last year “He took part in the zone but did not qual­ify for the Chow Games. I am happy I will be the first in the fam­ily to take part in the Chow Games. “I feel so proud and happy for my school.
