Duo’s Dream Invitation
Marylin Dayal, could not believe that she had just been recommended by Bollywood sensation Mika Singh for his upcoming projects in India. During his live show at the Prince Charles Park in Nadi on Wednesday night, Ms Dayal was called up on the stage to dance. Immediately her talent was spotted by the singer.
The 24-year-old of Lautoka, a member of the local dance group- Masti Arts and Dance, said she was surprised when Mr Singh made the offer in an announcement.
“I am so excited, dance is my passion and I have been into this since I was five-yearsold. To be commended by a Bollywood celebrity, is just awesome,” an excited Ms Dayal said. Mr Singh asked his manager to take Ms Dayal’s number and assured her, she would be contacted. Ms Dayal was not the only one. Shayal Shinal Devi, of Votualevu, Nadi, was also taken by surprise when her favourite artist asked her also.
“I just love him. He is awesome, if I get a chance I will definitely go to India and work with Mr Singh,” Ms Devi said. Mr Singh asked the duo to perform with him and he was amazed by their dancing. Amongst the crowd was Janend Ram of Yako, Nadroga. Mr Ram said, “It was an awesome show, non-stop blockbuster. I really enjoyed it and the girls had amusing voice.” Ranjinesh Nand of Korovuto, Nadi said: “He is a top singer and it was live music which is pretty rare nowadays. We should have these kinds of live show more often.” Mr Singh towards the end of the show got everyone from the pavillion to the front of the stage made them dance as he and his group sang. He also performed on people’s request. He and his group left the country yesterday.
