Vol­ley­ball play­ers clean up com­mu­ni­ties

Mem­bers of the Black Hawk and Ki­noya Un­der-20 vol­ley­ball teams will clean up the Fa­ther Law Home in Veis­ari in Veis­ari, Lami to­mor­row. In­clud­ing seven play­ers who are mem­bers of the Fi­jian men’s team pre­par­ing for the first round of the World Cup qual­i­fiers at the Voda­fone Arena next week, they will also do­nate a wash­ing ma­chine. Com­pris­ing un­em­ployed youths who are also mem­bers of the Ki­noya Sec­tor 3 Youth Group and Ki­noya Methodist Youth Fel­low­ship, they have been work­ing the past few weeks with the Valelevu Po­lice Station and Nas­inu Town Coun­cil rais­ing aware­ness on the im­por­tance of a clean en­vi­ron­ment. “The group is set to em­bark on its most am­bi­tious project yet and that is to clean Fa­ther Law Home in La mi this Satur­day ,” or­gan is er Rosa Dal­i­tuicama said. “The group will be work­ing with the Ki­noya Old Boys As­so­ci­a­tion (KOBA) who will pro­vide three brush cut­ters, rakes and wheel­bar­rows for our use.” The cleanup cam­paign for the Fa­ther Law Home will in­volve around 40 youths this Satur­day from 7am to 12pm.
