Post Fiji Lim­ited has joined the fight against can­cer. Oc­to­ber is recog­nised as Breast Can­cer Aware­ness month and this year, af­ter a lapse of four years, Post Fiji has again joined the fight against the deadly dis­ease.

Post Fiji Ltd with the help of the Fiji Can­cer So­ci­ety or­gan­ised col­lec­tion drives in their var­i­ous out­lets for the weeks.

Post Fiji Ltd chair­man Lawrence Tikaram said risks were not worth tak­ing where your health was con­cerned. “Can­cer is some­thing that we all shy away from but I think it is ev­ery­one’s con­cern as it is not only about you but the peo­ple around you as well,” he said.

Post Fiji Ltd act­ing chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer William Wong said he felt the pain of los­ing a loved one. He lost his mother be­cause of breast can­cer. “Back in the days we did not have many qual­i­fied and equipped doc­tors in Fiji to de­tect breast can­cer eas­ily. We are for­tu­nate that Fiji now have qual­i­fied and equipped doc­tors to help our loved ones in their can­cer treat­ment,” Mr Wong said.Edited by Naisa Koroi
