Post Fiji joins cancer fight
Post Fiji Limited has joined the fight against cancer. October is recognised as Breast Cancer Awareness month and this year, after a lapse of four years, Post Fiji has again joined the fight against the deadly disease.
Post Fiji Ltd with the help of the Fiji Cancer Society organised collection drives in their various outlets for the weeks.
In addition, Post Fiji donated $2000 yesterday to Fiji Cancer Society during their breast cancer awareness
morning tea at the Post Fiji head office in Suva. Post Fiji Ltd chairman Lawrence Tikaram said risks were not worth taking where your health was concerned. “Cancer is something that we all shy away from but I think it is everyone’s concern as it is not only about you but the people around you as well,” he said.
Post Fiji Ltd acting chief executive officer William Wong said he felt the pain of losing a loved one. He lost his mother because of breast cancer. “Back in the days we did not have many qualified and equipped doctors in Fiji to detect breast cancer easily. We are fortunate that Fiji now have qualified and equipped doctors to help our loved ones in their cancer treatment,” Mr Wong said.Edited by Naisa Koroi
