Maths Topper Shanal Thanks Parents, Teacher For Success
He also topped Year 13 in accounting, economics and computer science
Maths is a subject of a lot of calculations, you just have to know the techniques of working numbers out, says the maths topper, Shanal Kumar, of Lautoka. Shanal Kumar of Natabua High School said this as an advice to all those students who do not like maths. This after he was awarded a trophy in recognition of scoring 100 /100 in Mathematics in 2015 the Fiji Seventh Form Examination during the Natabua High School Academic Awards night on Thursday. Shanal, who is now studying bachelor of commerce at the University of the South Pacific, said maths was his favourite subject and he enjoyed every moment of mastering the techniques of solving each problem. Not only that made him the highest subject scorer for maths alone, but he bagged other awards for scoring highest in accounting 99/100, economics 91/100 and computer studies 91/100. The 19-year-old of Love Sea Side Lautoka thanked his parents and teachers for the achievements he was recognised for by the Natabua High School as he left for tertiary studies. His mother, Prem Lata, said her son’s love for maths and accounting motivated him to work hard to achieve such results. “We are very proud of him. He is doing what he loves and we are confident of his choices.” Shanal said now he wished to further his career in accounting or human resources and would aim to give his best level of performance.
