RE­FRAIN FROM US­ING CRACK­ERS NEAR BUSY ROADS: PO­LICE

Po­lice are ad­vis­ing mem­bers of the pub­lic to re­frain from us­ing fire­works near busy roads and be con­sid­er­ate to all road users.

Also the prac­tice of throw­ing fire­works at, or from mov­ing ve­hi­cles is strongly ad­vised against be­cause it is a se­ri­ous safety con­cern, says Di­rec­tor Traf­fic Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent of Po­lice (SSP) Ma­hesh Mishra.

“Di­wali is cel­e­brated by ev­ery­one and it be­comes a mul­tira­cial cel­e­bra­tions and one thing that ev­ery­body must take note that safety of ev­ery per­son is im­por­tant,” SSP Mishra said. “As far as the road is con­cerned and we are ad­vis­ing all the mo­torists and pedes­tri­ans to take heed of all mea­sures. “They must en­sure that they should not use or light fire crack­ers while they are trav­el­ling or walk­ing on the road be­cause the road is meant for trav­el­ling.” SSP Mishra said they were al­ready an­tic­i­pat­ing lot of move­ment of ve­hi­cles and peo­ple.
