Road accidents

Ronnie Chang, Nadi

Two accidents, on Western Division roads, namely in Nanuku in Rakiraki and Sabeto near Nadi are again needless statistics. I am again of the serious and worrying view there are far too many irresponsible and arrogant drivers who do not deserve to be driving on our roads. More than enough has been said by all authorities concerned. Nothing more should be said. Far too much valuable time is taken by hard working Courts which are already overburdened by huge volumes of work.

Stupid traffic accidents must be dealt with immediate and professional promness. Laws, where needed, must be amended to facilitate swift justice. On the spot fines and penalties must become the new “order of the day” and made irrevocable. Sadly, a young mother and daughter have lost their lives so very unnecessarily.

Sadly, their loved ones are left to mourn this needless grief, pain, suffering and grossly unbearable loss. We pray our Heavenly Father rest their souls. We also remember their families in their time of much sadness. All careless drivers must have immediate suspensions of their driver’s license plus hefty fines that hurt their pockets badly. There is no politer way to express my repeated concerns and anger. Our Courts must not be burdened by such cases.
