A28-year-old man appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday for allegedly assaulting a 44-year-old woman in his community. The matter was called before Magistrate Waleen George. Samuela Lesubula is charged with assault causing actual bodily harm. The alleged incident occurred on October 27, in Lami. Police Prosecutor Caroline Fisher served full phase disclosures and objected to bail as the victim lives in the same community. Magistrate George granted Lesubula bail in the sum of $200 as it is a reconcilable offence. He has told the accused not to offend while on bail, and not to interfere with the complainant or the prosecution witnesses. Lesubula is to keep 50 metres away from the victim at all times.

The case has been adjourned to November 8 for mention. JESSICA GOUNDER Edited by Ranoba Baoa
