CLEAN DRINKING WATER FOR RARA VILLAGE, CIRISOBU SETTLEMENT
More than 179 people in the hinterlands of Ba Province will have access to clean and treated drinking water. Two Water for Life projects funded by the Fiji Water Foundation will be commissioned at Rara Village and Cirisobu settlement in Ba on Thursday. Rotary Pacific Water for Life Foundation AVID communications officer Julie Morris said: “The water project sites are located in Rara Village and Cirisobu settlement.” The village will receive Biosand water filtration systems which strain pathogens and suspend solids.
A 5000 litre storage tank and two sets of Biosand filtration systems was built to cater for the drinking needs of Rara Village. With new water supply, the existing flush toilets have become operational. Ms Morris added the projects will be officiated by Fiji Water chief executive officer Rokoseru Nabalarua.
