7. Electronic Transactions (Amendment) Bill 2016 (Bill 53 of 2016)
seeks to harmonize provisions of the Promulgation with the Convention on the use of Electronic Communication in International Contracts (2005) and pave way for the State to accede and become a state party to the Convention.

Oral submissions will be limited to 15 minutes per individual/group/organization with 5 minutes allocated for questions. Oral submissions will primarily be based on written submissions received by the Committee. Copies of the Bills are available on the Parliament website (www.parliament.gov.fj).
Written submissions should be submitted to the Secretariat no later than 4pm on 11/11/16. Oral submissions will be heard by the Standing Committee on the following dates:
