Mus­ket Cove guests, own­ers help boost Fiji Red Cross

Mus­ket Cove Is­land Re­sort and Ma­rina, handed over $10, 000 to boost Fiji Red Cross op­er­a­tions. Mus­ket Cove di­rec­tor Will Mof­fat handed over do­na­tion to Fiji Red Cross mar­ket events man­ager Mareta To­vata. “We are com­mit­ted to giv­ing back to our com­mu­nity. Many peo­ple were af­fected by Cy­clone Win­ston for which we asked our guests to open their hearts and wal­lets to do­nate to Fiji Red Cross in as­sist­ing the many thou­sands of peo­ple who lost ev­ery­thing,” Mr Mof­fat said.

Proud givers

“We can proudly say that a to­tal of $10,000 was raised. Half of which was a pledge from our own­ers to match ev­ery dol­lar raised by our won­der­ful guests.” He said giv­ing back to the com­mu­nity was an in­te­gral part of Mus­ket Cove’s op­er­a­tions.

“In 2012, we jointly es­tab­lished and main­tain The Western di­vi­sions fist Kid­ney Dial­y­sis Clinic in Nadi,” he said. “We are sup­port­ers of the ‘Buy Fi­jian Made’ ini­tia­tive. Items in our bou­tique and gen­eral store are made, grown or sewn in Fiji, and many have come from, or sup­ported from ru­ral craft groups,” Mr Mof­fat said. Ms To­vata thanked Mus­ket Cove for their ini­tia­tive to­wards as­sist­ing their op­er­a­tions.
