Driver sta­ble af­ter ac­ci­dent

The 34-year-old driver of Barara Flats in Nadi, who was in­volved in a road ac­ci­dent at Sa­beto last Sun­day is in sta­ble con­di­tion at the Lau­toka Hos­pi­tal. The four peo­ple were al­leged to be in­volved in head on col­li­sions and were rushed to the Nadi Hos­pi­tal when the in­ci­dent oc­curred. Po­lice Spokesper­son Ana Naisoro con­firmed that the driver has been trans­ferred from the Nadi Hos­pi­tal over the week­end be­cause of the se­ri­ous in­juries sus­tained. “The driver in the Sa­beto case is re­cov­er­ing in sta­ble con­di­tion at the Lau­toka Hos­pi­tal,” she said.

Ac­cord­ing to Po­lice, the ve­hi­cle driven by the man is al­leged to have over­taken at a sharp bend and col­lided with an on­com­ing ve­hi­cle which had three peo­ple on board. The three peo­ple were treated and sent home. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are in process.

Mean­while, Po­lice are still ap­peal­ing for in­for­ma­tion af­ter the tragic death of 30-year-old Mere­oni Kalini, who was found dead on the side of the road near Vo­livoli Vil­lage in Si­ga­toka.

Po­lice also con­firmed that the vic­tim, a mother of four, died in a hit-and-run in­ci­dent on Oc­to­ber 22.
