Ho­tel work­ers ready to play

Over 72 teams will bat­tle in the an­nual Fiji Ho­tel Work­ers Vol­ley­ball tour­na­ment at Lawaqa Park, Si­ga­toka on Satur­day. The fun­filled tour­na­ment is ex­pected to fea­ture var­i­ous cat­e­gories like men, women, mix vol­ley­ball and mix net­ball in a one-day event. As­so­ci­a­tion pres­i­dent/ founder Jack Stark said he is look­ing for­ward to an­other suc­cess­ful tour­na­ment.

“Since it first started, it’s ful­fill­ing to see all ho­tel work­ers in Fiji meet and forge new friend­ship,” he said. “We have teams com­ing as far as prop­er­ties from Tave­uni, Savusavu, Ya­sawa, Ma­manuca and those in Viti Levu. This shows the pop­u­lar­ity of the event which all ho­tel work­ers around the coun­try look for­ward to. “We are look­ing for­ward to hav­ing ev­ery­one at the Co­ral Coast and ex­cited to show­case our Bula Spirit. Our hosts have been pre­par­ing for this one-day tour­na­ment and are look­ing for­ward to per­form­ing their best. With the

bili­bili race post­poned this year, the hosts at the ho­tels are ex­cited that this event will be a fan­tas­tic one.” The event will be­gin with a march through Si­ga­toka Town to Lawaqa Park and will fin­ish off with a mardi gra at the ground. Mean­while, the Outrig­ger Fiji Beach Re­sort vol­ley­ball and mix met­ball are look­ing for­ward to the event as they have fielded four teams.
