FRCA wins Excellence Award
After receiving an achievement award last year, the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority (FRCA), this year scooped a Fiji Business Excellence Prize Award. It culminated a major year for FRCA in the awards programme run by the Fiji National University’s National Training and Productivity Centre. Speaking at the Fiji Business Excellence Awards night on Saturday at Sheraton Fiji Resort on Denarau Island, the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority chief executive, Visvanath Das said while he was privileged to receive the award, he was thankful to his 800 employees for their committed efforts in the organisation.
“If it was not for everyone of these individuals and their commitment to excellence, we would not have been getting this award,” Mr Das said. “Our unified vision for the organisation is to be a world class revenue authority, delivery excellence and revenue collection, trade and facilitation.
“In order to achieve this ambition, we embarked on a transformation journey in partnership with all our staffs and stakeholders.” He said FRCA was re-engineering processes to make them more efficient and they deployed best practices in its systems and processes for this. “In essence we are building an organisation of the future for the future an organisation that will excel at its deliveries in order to contribute to Fiji’s quest for education revolution to improving access necessities of the Fijians creating jobs and assist the disadvantaged,” he added.
He said: “There will be challenges, criticisms and not always go as planned. If we don’t learn from this and integrate the learning’s that’s when we fail to change.”
