My Champions, My Staff: Vodafone CEO
Pradeep Lal, the chief executive officer of Vodafone Fiji Limited, applauded his staff for their efforts as he received the President’s award during the Fiji Business Excellence Awards. He said: “Vodafone Fiji has made it for the fifth time picking up this award. This would not have been possible without my champions- my staffs.” He said quality and innovation at Vodafone was not a separate function but was embedded into each staff ’s day to day work. “We have 260 staffs 96 % University graduates, 63% hold Masters or an equivalent level of qualification and we are 100 per cent locally owned and hold around 85 per cent market share after nine years of competition,” Mr Lal stated. “The quality at Vodafone began from the beginning. “We have spent large amount of time, looking at procedures, processes as to how we can bring improvement and better serve our customers on a daily basis. “And not only had that but a global rating agency rated Vodafone one of the best in the Asia Pacific Region.” The President’s Award for the Fiji Business Excellence Awards is awarded to an organisation which has demonstrably been a world class organisation and Vodafone Fiji Limited has won an award for the fifth time this year. He said Vodafone Fiji was majority owned by the people of Fiji through the Fiji National Provident Fund.
He also thanked the Fiji National University, National Training and Productivity Centre for the efforts put in organizing the awards. Vodafone Fiji won the Fiji Business Excellence President’s Awards in 2004, 2007, 2013 and also received the Achievement in Fiji Business Excellence Awards in 2000.
