trade del­e­ga­tion from Le­banon will be vis­it­ing Fiji in Septem­ber, 2017 to ex­plore op­por­tu­ni­ties to deepen eco­nomic co-op­er­a­tion be­tween the two coun­tries. The an­nounce­ment fol­lowed a meet­ing in Beirut be­tween Prime Min­is­ter Jo­saia Voreqe Bain­i­marama and his Le­banese coun­ter­part, Prime Min­is­ter Saad Hariri. The two men dis­cussed the on­go­ing ef­forts of Fi­jian UN Peace­keep­ers to main­tain sta­bil­ity in the re­gion, and Prime Min­is­ter Bain­i­marama reaf­firmed Fiji’s com­mit­ment to UN Peace­keep­ing op­er­a­tions. Prime Min­is­ter Bain­i­marama is also in Le­banon to meet Fi­jian UN Peace­keep­ers sta­tioned in var­i­ous parts of the coun­try serv­ing in the United Na­tions In­terim Force in Le­banon. Prime Min­is­ter Bain­i­marama’s talks with Prime Min­is­ter Hariri were a part of a three-day visit to Le­banon.
