Labasa Hospi­tal recog­nises staff

Seven staff mem­bers of the Labasa Hospi­tal were pre­sented the Best Month of the Em­ployee Award. The awardees were four nurses, Kal­pana Narayan, San­jani Mala, Bhamini Narayan, Rakesh­war Prasad, lab tech­ni­cian Ti­moci Ra­colo, driver Sakaraia Vakatu­tu­rayani and physi­cian Nav­jeet Kaur. Labasa Hospi­tal med­i­cal su­per­in­ten­dent Doc­tor Jaoji Vulibeci said they re­sumed with the spe­cial cer­tifi­cate pre­sen­ta­tion af­ter a lapse of six years. “This year from April we be­gan giv­ing out this cer­tifi­cate,” Dr Vulibeci said. “Em­ploy­ees, in­clud­ing our driv­ers, are as­sessed in four cat­e­gories which are ab­sen­teeism, at­ten­dance, dis­ci­plinary and punc­tu­al­ity. “The as­sess­ment is done by the head of de­part­ments. “The rea­son we do this is to ac­knowl­edge the work done by our ded­i­cated work­ers and mo­ti­vate oth­ers to do bet­ter in their work­ing en­vi­ron­ment.

“This is in line with one of val­ues which are pub­lic ser­vice fo­cus­ing on achiev­ing re­sults, man­ag­ing per­for­mance and pro­vid­ing a re­ward­ing work place.

“At the end of this year we will give out the Best Em­ployee of the Year Award.” Labasa Hospi­tal man­ager nurs­ing ma­tron Tavaita Su­raki felt proud since most award win­ners were her nurses. “I am re­ally proud of my nurses and I thank them for their hard­work,” Ms Su­raki said. “My nurses walk an ex­tra mile to pro­vide the best treat­ment to pa­tients at the hospi­tal. “I am happy that the hospi­tal or­gan­ises such kind of pre­sen­ta­tions which en­cour­ages ev­ery­one to pro­vide the best ser­vice to our peo­ple.” Edited by Jonathan Bryce
