The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) has placed the security of polling materials, workers and voters as paramount in the lead-up to the 2018 General Elections.

This is after the FEO, Fiji Police Force and Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption signed a Terms of Reference in Suva on Thursday. The pact provides a common platform between FEO, FICAC and Police to share information on security matters during the elections.

This is a strategic endeavour between FEO and its security partners in anticipating and preempting security risks, mitigating their impact or probability of occurrence.

The three institutions are also members of the Electoral Security Advisory Group [ESAG] which emerged after the Electoral Risk Management Workshop earlier in April this year. Edited by Rusiate Mataika
