New All Blacks jersey unveiled

Wellington: The All Blacks might cause a bit of a stir with their new away jersey, revealed yesterday by adidas rugby ahead of the highly anticipated final Northern Tour match against France. Moving away from traditional designs, the new-look jersey is a stark contrast from its all-black home counterpart. The AIG logo still appears prominently next to the slanted adidas and All Blacks logos.

Ironically, the promotional image for the jerseys features Sam Cane and Malakai Fekitoa - both cited for foul play during the Ireland win on Sunday which may see them miss the very game they are due to wear the jersey.

In regards to design, senior director of adidas Rugby, Simon Cartwright, said: “We know that this dynamic, new jersey design will get fans talking. “The All Blacks are the most creative team in world rugby, and what we have designed is an alternate jersey that we think matches that creativity, in appearance and technology.

“The result is a striking, new design inspired by the team’s creativity and their dynamic style of play.”
