French woman’s al­leged ab­duc­tors take plea to­day

Two men ap­peared at the Suva Mag­is­trates Court yes­ter­day for al­legedly ab­duct­ing a French na­tional on Sun­day. The duo, Saimuel Gage, 21 and Te­vita Bose, 29, are al­leged to have ab­ducted the 27-year-old em­ployee of the French Em­bassy from Vic­to­ria Pa­rade. The al­leged in­ci­dent hap­pened on Novem­ber 20. They ap­peared be­fore Mag­is­trate Shageeth So­maratne, who or­dered that they be re­manded. Bose is also charged with one count each of theft of a mo­tor ve­hi­cle, dan­ger­ous driv­ing, driv­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle with­out a driver’s li­cence and driv­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle in con­tra­ven­tion of the third pol­icy risk. Both ac­cused waived their rights to coun­sel and will be mak­ing their plea later to­day.
