I am very proud of my daugh­ter to­day, she de­serves to given this award be­cause of her hard work and de­ter­mi­na­tion. I will al­ways sup­port her in way I can as a par­ent.

It is im­por­tant to in­vest in your chil­dren, says Ashrine Deo. Her daugh­ter, Ash­leen Deo was the Stu­dent of the Year at the Nas­inu Sangam Pri­mary School An­nual Awards Cer­e­mony in Navo­sai yes­ter­day. “I am very proud of my daugh­ter to­day, she de­serves to given this award be­cause of her hard work and de­ter­mi­na­tion,” she said. “I will al­ways sup­port her in way I can as a par­ent.” Mrs Deo said her daugh­ter had al­ways put ed­u­ca­tion as her first pri­or­ity ever since Year 1 and de­spite the chal­lenges she al­ways man­aged to ex­cel aca­dem­i­cally at the end of ev­ery school year. Ash­leen thanked her fam­ily and par­ents for their sup­port to­wards her school work. “I want to thank my mother for wak­ing me up ev­ery morn­ing and mak­ing sure that I was well pre­pared be­fore school starts.

“It is very im­por­tant to be obe­di­ent to our par­ents and teach­ers, this will help us achieve great things in life, “she said. Ash­leen said she was look­ing at pur­su­ing a ca­reer in medicine in the fu­ture. “I want to be­come a doc­tor or a den­tist in the fu­ture, but for now I will fo­cus in get­ting en­rolled in high school and ex­celling aca­dem­i­cally there too,” she said.
