“We’re not really financially stable, so I just want to achieve a stable and comfortable lifestyle for my parents,” she said. “My parents motivated me and I really want to work hard so I can also support them.” She says her challenge to study at and balance time in lookter her three younger siblings.

“I biggest was night her ing after did not really expect it, but I was thinking that I was one of the candidates,” she said. She was the top student in her class last year and scored 365/400 this year in the Fiji Seventh Form Examination. She said it was through her family and relatives’ positive words of encouragement that pushed her to excel.

Despite the struggle to constantly come to school on time, the young Dux from Lami said her determination to succeed pushed her. Edited by Naisa Koroi
