PNG’s Sir Julius Chan to cam­paign again

Port Moresby: A for­mer Prime Min­is­ter of Pa­pua New Guinea and the cur­rent gov­er­nor of New Ire­land prov­ince has con­firmed he is seek­ing re-elec­tion. Sir Julius Chan, who is 77, says age is no bar­rier and his mind is still strong enough to cre­ate change. Ac­cord­ing to EMTV, Sir Julius says he still has work to do and he hopes the peo­ple of New Ire­land will vote on what his pro­vin­cial govern­ment has achieved.

He says it’s the first prov­ince to im­ple­ment and el­derly and dis­abled pen­sion, ev­ery health cen­tre and school has so­lar lights, and the prov­ince has strong wa­ter, san­i­ta­tion and health pro­gramme. RNZI
