Opposition Member of Parliament Mosese Bulitavu, and businessman Jagath Karunaratne, had their ruling on the no case application to answer deferred. Magistrate Deepika Prakash had deferred the ruling due to administrative issues.

Two months ago, defence lawyers Barbara Malimali, and Aman Ravindra-Singh had filed a no case to answer application. Magistrate Prakash further told the State and defence lawyers that her personal assistant had been away for two days hence the ruling was not typed. Karunaratne and Bulitavu are charged with spreading seditious comments in public in 2011.

It is alleged that they had a hand in the spray painting or graffiti of seditious comments on the billboards, buses and retaining walls from Suva to Nausori in 2011.

The matter has been adjourned to October 2, for ruling.
