FIJI AIR­WAYS AUCKLANDSUVA FLIGHT TURNED BACK BE­CAUSE OF ME­CHAN­I­CAL IS­SUES

Fiji Air­ways flight FJ430 Auck­land – Suva ser­vice on Fri­day had to re­turn to Auck­land about 60 min­utes into the flight be­cause of a me­chan­i­cal is­sue with an air­craft air valve.

Gov­ern­ment Af­fairs and Fiji Air­ways spokesper­son Shae­naz Voss said: “The B737 air­craft re­turned to Auck­land with­out in­ci­dent.

“The flight was can­celled and most guests were trans­ferred to two sep­a­rate Fiji Air­ways flights to Fiji on Fri­day af­ter­noon, depart­ing at 1.26pm and 6pm.”

The re­main­der were ac­com­mo­dated in Auck­land overnight and trav­elled yes­ter­day.

Fiji Air­ways apol­o­gises to all guests for this dis­rup­tion in the in­ter­est of safety, and for the in­con­ve­nience ex­pe­ri­enced.
