PNG Star’s top Gong
Papua New Guinea playmaker Ase Boas has warmed up for the World Cup by being named the best player in this year’s Queensland Cup.
Boas earned the top gong at the QRL awards night this week, beating the likes of Matt Lodge and Brodie Croft to get the chocolates. The Hunters captain will line up for PNG at the international tournament in November.-
“I haven’t really delved too deeply into his latest indiscretions and why he didn’t play on the weekend. That’s who I am, I don’t want to be prying at this time of the year because it’s such an important game and particularly the Dragons this weekend. “The players understand that behaviour is a really important part of what we do with the Kangaroos, it’s an important part of who we are. You’ve got to display the right traits. “I’ll make a decision when the heat of emotion has died down and there’s less media attention and we’ll make some decisions down the track.”
