Suva bridges complete by 2018
Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) chief executive officer (CEO) Jonathan Moore has confirmed that the Vatuwaqa and Stinson Parade bridges in Suva will be completed in four months.
Mr Moore has recently met with the bridge contractors, China Railway 14 Group and was pleased with the progress on both bridges.
“The concrete bridge superstructure and sub-structure at the Vatuwaqa Bridge are complete,” Mr Moore said. “Currently the contractor is working on the construction of bridge furniture,” he said.
“An advisory notice will be issued next week because the work to complete road approaches will take at least two days, and it is subject to clement weather.”
The Stinson Parade Bridge he said its bridge sub-structure was complete.
“The contractor is currently constructing the deck superstructure,” he said.
“Ground stabilisation works are completed at both approaches.”
He said road approach works would commence next week. Mr Moore said the expected completion date for both the bridges is on March 15, 2018.
