A. Samoa looks to tighten tobacco laws
Pago Pago: There are proposals in American Samoa to amend and tighten local tobacco laws.
The local administration is looking at submitting proposals to amend the law to include e-cigarettes and raise the smoking age to 21 to the Fono for consideration. The proposals are cited in Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga’s 94page Comprehensive Report to the US government.
Currently it is prohibited for any person below the age of 18 to purchase or distribute tobacco products in American Samoa.
