Unbeaten boxer Jim ‘Thunder’ Nalawa is going for a win against Rahul Aaron Kumar in the lightweight bout on February 2.

The two will face-off in a four-round fight under the Westwood Boxing Promotions in conjunction with Freedom Sports Management at the Novotel Suva Lami Bay Convention Centre.

The Ra native wants to maintain his unbeaten record.

“I’m looking forward to the fight and my opponent will be coming on strong as he wants to win as well,” said Nalawa.

“Well it’s another big fight for me and I’m not taking it lightly. I respect my opponent since he has more pro fights than me and has more ring experience as well.”

Kumar has fought upcoming boxers like Junior Wahid Khan, Sachin Mudaliar, and Saimoni Mario since making his debut in March, last year.

“Preparation is going on well. I’m not predicting anything but will be going for a win. “I’ve won both of my fights by knockouts so I dedicate this fight to my grandmother in Lau, my fiancee’s family in Japan, my dad but mostly to Team Sniper for helping me out.” Nalawa is also grateful to Shant Kumar for supporting him and sponsors Global Recyclers.
