Nineteen i-Kiribati students have graduated from the Australia-Pacific Technical College (APTC).

APTC, which is funded by the Australian government aid programme, provides tertiary level skills training to the Australian required standard. In its 10 years of operation APTC has trained over 12,000 Pacific people, including more than 440 i-Kiribati.

This year’s graduates have gained qualifications in carpentry, cookery, hospitality and several other spheres.

There were eight women graduates this year with more than 175 i-Kiribati women having so far gained qualifications from APTC.

The new graduates completed their studies at APTC campuses in Fiji, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and Samoa. >RNZ
