ELECTIONS OFFICE STEPS UP PREPARATION

The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) has started preparations for the 2018 General Election.

FEO operations coordinator logistics, Petero Pagkale, said there were 1600 ballot boxes already packed for the Election Day without sensitive materials. 560 boxes were prepared for the pre-poll ballot boxes.

The sensitive materials are the ballot papers, voter lists, seals and boxes which would contain the sensitive materials that will be packed once the elections date is announced.

The non-sensitive materials, which contains manuals, are packed and ready.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem said despite the fact that the FEO had conducted training for the staff members, they were going to pack manuals in each ballot box for guidance in the event staff members have not read it or have read it and needed clarifications. Ashna Kumar
