Police treat Olosara death as murder

Police are treating the death last Wednesday of a hotel worker at Jubaraki settlement, Olosara, Sigatoka, as murder. This is after investigat­ing officers received the results of the post-mortem examinatio­n on Asbin Nair that was conducted last Friday.

This was confirmed by Fiji Police Force spokespers­on Ana Naisoro confirmed yesterday.

The 48 year-old was found dead in a pool of blood with deep cuts to his head just a few metres from his home last Wednesday night.

His son, Anish Nair, was returning home from a soccer match when he spotted a trail of blood, which led to the discovery of his dead father. Mr Nair worked at a prominent resort along the Coral Coast.

Ms Naisoro said the investigat­ion was ongoing. Meanwhile. the Police and Republic of Fiji Military Forces are carrying out an investigat­ion on a bullet that was found in Nausori last Monday. Police spokespers­on Ana Naisoro said a 21-yearold man found one bullet while he was resting at Syria Park on Monday and reported the matter at the Nakasi Police Station.
