PM holds dis­cus­sion fol­low­ing the end of his Lau, Ka­davu tour

Prime Min­is­ter Voreqe Bain­i­marama held a dis­cus­sion yes­ter­day fol­low­ing the end of his of­fi­cial tour of Lau and Ka­davu last week.

He met the Min­is­ter for Com­merce, Trade, Tourism and Trans­port Faiyaz Koya, Min­is­ter for De­fence, Na­tional Se­cu­rity and Polic­ing, Ru­ral and Mar­itime De­vel­op­ment and Dis­as­ter Man­age­ment, Inia Seruiratu, Min­is­ter for In­fra­struc­ture, Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vices, Lands and Min­eral Re­sources Jone Usa­mate, Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary for Com­merce Trade, Tourism and Trans­port Sha­heen Ali and Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary for Forestry Pene Nonu Baleinab­uli. Mr Bain­i­marama called for im­prove­ments to in­ter-is­land pas­sen­ger and cargo trans­porta­tion with en­hanced co­or­di­na­tion. Mr Bain­i­marama was in Lau and Ka­davu last week to get a first­hand ac­count of the Moala jetty ru­ins left be­hind by Trop­i­cal Cy­clone Harold.

Fiji Roads Au­thor­ity of­fi­cials up­dated the Prime Min­is­ter on both the dam­aged jetty and other in­fra­struc­ture de­vel­op­ments on the is­land as they work hard to re­pair the jetty.
