Prasad : Sanatan tournament in September all teams to prepare well

The 24th Labasa Sanatan Football Tournament will be held on September 4-13. This was confirmed by the Shree Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji national president Sarju Prasad who is also the director of the tournament.

The week-long annual event will be held at

Subrail Park in Labasa.

"We normally accommodat­e 48 teams however, due to the COVID 19 pandemic, we expect 32 teams from all over Va nua Levu including Taveuni," Prasad said.

"With Vodafone Fiji, Mohammed Abdul, a former resident of Vunimoli, Labasa now residing in California, are major sponsors in the past.

“We hope they will come on board again this year. “This is one of the largest sporting events in Fiji bringing different races together."

Entry is free since but funds collected are used for charitable, educationa­l and cultural projects. "Apart from raising money the tournament provides entertainm­ent for people and promoting unity."
