Hon Niko Nawaikula being a lawyer should be careful in making unfounded accusations against Hon Ratu Epeli Nailatikau , Speaker of the Parliament of the Rebublic of Fiji. The Secretary-General to Parliament is responsible to the Speaker for the efficient, effective and economical management of Parliament. The Secretary-General is also the principal procedural advisor to the Speaker.
Niko should also note that PPR 19 (4) “A political party that has been suspended under subsection (3) shall not be entitled to any of the rights and privileges specified under this Act. This is different from a Party which has been de registered, in which case Section 20 (2), representatives shall continue to serve for the remainder of their term as independents or as members or other political parties. Right now SODELPA is not de-registered but suspended.
