Pub­lic gath­er­ings, church ser­vices al­lowed in A. Samoa

Pago Pago: Pub­lic gath­er­ings and church ser­vices are now per­mit­ted in Amer­i­can Samoa af­ter Gover­nor Lolo Mata­lasi Moliga an­nounced an eas­ing of the re­stric­tions im­posed be­cause of COVID-19.

The fifth Amended Emer­gency Dec­la­ra­tion was ef­fec­tive from yes­ter­day and al­lowed pub­lic gath­er­ings which were lim­ited to 150 peo­ple and with so­cial dis­tanc­ing in place. Busi­nesses could now op­er­ate from 5am to 9 pm but must al­low just 50 per cent of their ca­pac­ity within the premises. All schools will re­main close for the next 30 days.
