Keep learning, coaches told

- SHRATIKA NAIDU Edited by Leone Cabenatabua

Vodafone Fijian football head coach Flemming Serritslev has urged youth coaches in the Northern Division to keep educating themselves. Speaking during the Youth Coaches Workshop at the Galaxy Hotel and Apartments in Labasa on Monday, he said one of the best ways to take advantage of this COVID-19 pandemic was by taking up coaching courses.

Serritslev said the coaches need to broaden their knowledge about the game.

“That is why I came again to Labasa to conduct a workshop on talent development and inspire these youth coaches to continue on their good work.

“Only by having good coaches, we can get good players.”

He said there were enough coaches to carry out necessary development works in Fiji.

When asked about the need for the coaches to work on their physical fitness Serritslev said, it was up to the individual.

“If their coaching is good where players are able to understand what they are teaching and work together with him then that is fine,” he said.

“The most important thing for them to coach well.”
