Porn and its impact

Christian Mission Fellowship Church Senior Pastor Manasa Kolivuso has been openly addressing the detrimental impacts that pornography poses on family and spiritual life.

While pornographic websites already top the accessed sites in Fiji, he believes the restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic led to an increase in accessing the websites.

“It is also because of easy accessibility to internet and during this pandemic, if the the family unit is not strong, members will tend to take wrong steps like watching porn,” he said.

Pastor Kolivuso said he was more focused on men’s behaviour to pornography believing that it was mostly watched by men in Fiji.

“But that does not mean that women do not watch it, and it increases domestic violence in Fiji as well,” he said.

Pastor Kolivuso said he had challenged the church not to be silent and for the men to treat women with respect.

Statistics have shown that Fiji ranks among the top 10 of the words “porn” and “pornography” searches on google.
