Need less conservative restrictions

Norman Yee, Nadi

Thanks to our hard working PM and team for reducing restrictions on COVID-19. However, it seems to me that since there are no more new cases inside Fiji, perhaps the need for social distances should be relaxed. As noted before no one pays any notice of this, in supermarkets, outside FNPF, on the streets, in buses, etc. They are still shaking hands. In some pictures in the media there are no signs of social distancing.

Therefore we should go back to normal since we are all COVID-19 free.

Similarly, if we allow people from COVID-19 free countries to enter, there is no need for them to be quarantined either at home or in Fiji. As long as they have a medical certificate and not a recovered patient or related to them and to have their temperature taken before and after arrival.

Because with the present restrictions I wonder how many visitors will come, say from New Zealand? Even in their case the new cases had come from outside.

Since Tourism is the mainstay of our economy, it would be great to see Tourism revived as soon as possible so less restrictions imposed on COVID-19 free countries would be a big help.

So my humble and earnest plea to the powers that be, to please reconsider this aspect.
