Rakitic scores as Barca take top spot

Barcelona: Barcelona got back to winning ways as they overcame Athletic Bilbao 1-0 at the Nou Camp to go ahead of Real Madrid at the top of La Liga points table. Lionel Messi and Co were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw against Sevilla last time out, but had Ivan Rakitic to thank for securing all three points this time around. Bilbao’s unbeaten run of five games came to an end but Messi could not register his 700th goal.
