PM as­sures sup­ply of clean drink­ing water

A rep­re­sen­ta­tive from the Water Author­ity of Fiji con­firmed that work sup­plies from Suva such as pipes would be de­liv­ered to the vil­lage on Thurs­day

Prime Min­is­ter Voreqe Bain­i­marama has as­sured the peo­ple of Moturiki Is­land the sup­ply of clean drink­ing water to their vil­lage soon.

District rep­re­sen­ta­tive from Moturiki, Saki­asi Karani­vanua, raised the is­sue dur­ing a ta­lanoa ses­sion with Mr Bain­i­marama at Navu­loa Vil­lage, Ovalau yes­ter­day. A rep­re­sen­ta­tive from the Water Author­ity of Fiji con­firmed that work sup­plies from Suva such as pipes would be de­liv­ered to the vil­lage on Thurs­day.

Min­is­ter for Women, Chil­dren and Poverty Al­le­vi­a­tion, Mere­seini Vu­ni­waqa also urged re­cip­i­ents of the So­cial Pen­sion, Care and Protection and Poverty Ben­e­fit schemes to up­date their in­for­ma­tion so they could still be el­i­gi­ble for the as­sis­tance. Ms Vu­ni­waqa said this was vi­tal be­cause some fam­ily mem­bers were tak­ing ad­van­tage of the as­sis­tance af­ter the re­cip­i­ent had died. Ms Vu­ni­waqa, Min­is­ter for Ru­ral, Mar­itime De­vel­op­ment and Dis­as­ter Man­age­ment Inia Seruiratu, Min­is­ter for Lands Jone Usa­mate, Min­is­ter for Health and Med­i­cal Services, Dr Ifer­eimi Waqain­a­bete, As­sis­tant Min­is­ter for iTaukei Af­fairs Adi Se­laimaitoga, As­sis­tant Min­is­ter for Ru­ral and Mar­itime De­vel­op­ment and Dis­as­ter Man­age­ment Jale Si­garara are also tour­ing Ovalau with Mr Bain­i­marama.
